The situation

A couple holding two passports and permanent residence in two countries wanted to diversify up to USD 3 million away from their home banking system. They faced restrictive banks and overlapping residency rules, and were unsure which country would tax what.

What we did

Working with tax counsel, we mapped their residency and treaty position and compared four structuring pathways. We recommended direct institutional accounts, held personally or through a company depending on custodian requirements, coordinated the account-opening process, and set out an insurance-wrapper option as a second stage should they relocate.

The outcome

A clear, compliant structure aligned with both residences, capital held with an institutional custodian, and a documented path for the next stage.
